Stuart Meehan, Digital Developer

I undertake of a number of different tasks including website design and development and their continued maintenance. I also design and develop Flash based applications for websites which link-up with back end databases. Part of my role is to support our Design Director Paul Triggs in the development and research of new technologies to help move d3 forward and keep us offering new and unique systems to our clients.

Before joining d3 in 2009 I passed a National Diploma for ICT Practitioners, giving me experience and knowledge in a diverse range of areas including software development, visual programming, software applications, website management and human computer interfaces.

During my diploma I grew a keen interest in programming and the ability to design and build a system that could do whatever I wanted – from a simple physic’s based game to a system capable of performing multiple calculations in a business environment. Towards the end of my diploma, d3 were looking to recruit a young developer, so I jumped at the opportunity to get on board with an exciting new company in order to progress my skills alongside the company’s expanding client base.

Outside the office you’ll usually find me at the gym “pumping iron” (context), where I can relax my mind and catch up with a few friends on the day’s happenings. On the weekend I’ll be out with friends having a good time and a couple of drinks (a couple being the plan, not the end result). When all else fails, I’ll be back in front a computer screen, gaming with my brothers or going it solo.
