Ashley Perkins, d3 Contract Programmer

My role is to assist dtimes3 in the development of bespoke systems and project solutions. Working alongside the in-house technology team, we strive to provide the latest and most suitable technology solutions.

I left university in 2009 with an honours degree in Computer Networks and Security. Initially it was tough market in which to find work as a contract programmer, but d3 provided me the opportunity to prove my skills and recently I have worked on a number of major projects for d3 clients.

I am technically trained as a Cisco network technician, however from an early age programming has been my real interest, starting with webpages made during GCSE’s and culminating in facial recognition software produced for a university dissertation.

Luckily being a contractor, I’ve been able to develop a wide range of skills from web application programming to backend database design. While not every job requires the same set of skills it provides for a much greater challenge!

When I’m not bashing away at the keyboard I enjoy the “occasional” session of online gaming and have a growing library of books (no kindle for me!).
